Introduces students to Computer Literacy & computer concepts. Students will learn about computer operations system software & application software, how to identify computer hardware and what to look for when buying or upgrading a computer. Student will be assigned a small project in word processing, spreadsheets, databases and the Internet. Upon completion of the course should have an understanding of the computer.
Introduces student to the Windows operating system. The course covers how to use Windows 98. Some topics covered are how to use a mouse, what a control panel is, and how to install software. Upon completion the student should have a better understanding of what Windows is and how to use it.
The Microsoft word processing program will cover editing, proofing and formatting documents, working with tables, formatting pages, adding graphics and merging word documents
The Microsoft word processing program will cover working with larger documents, collaborating with documents, working with graphics, creating and modifying charts, creating and using forms, and customizing Word and AutoText and macros.
The Microsoft spreadsheet program will include creating, formatting, and moving around the worksheet, as well as practice in entering text, number, and formulas. Students will learn how to open, save, and print the worksheets in a workbook. You will get introduced to "what-if" questions, graphs and graphics.

Recommended for anyone who owns or uses a computer. Learn how to perform routine cleaning maintenance on the mouse, keyboard, system unit and peripheral devices. The class will include discussions on static electricity, surge protectors, as well as many other topics.
Teaches the student about how the file structures DOS and Windows are set up. Class is broken into two sections. First - students learn how the files are created in DOS and what the rules are. Second - Students learns about the file structure in Windows. Once the student understands how and why files are the way they are, then we come up with a management style for the student and how the student can set up their file management system in their work place.
