Text Box: Organizational Development The 2006-2007 school year at the Venango Technology Center (VTC) was a year of PDE paperwork, paperwork, paperwork.. We completed the submission of all of our instructional programs to PDE for approval through the state’s electronic CATS system, planned extensively for and participated in PDE’s Act 339 Approved Program Review audit process, and developed our 2007-2013 Strategic Plan as required by the Department of Education. In addition to these tasks we, as we do every year, experienced our annual ISO 9001:2000 audit conducted by the outside auditing group, SRI. Other organizational developments included the continuation of the collaborative Clinical Medical Assistant Associate Degree program with the DuBois Business College, the development of a 2+2+2 program with PMI and the Venango Campus of Clarion University of PA, and exploratory initiatives regarding a couple of post-secondary programs in cooperation with the Community College of Allegheny County. We, also continued to be part of the planning process aimed at the creation of a NW PA Technical Community College. The post-secondary Practical Nursing Program, Adult Education, New Choices/New Options and GED programs continued to post positive growth Text Box: trends. A technological organizational development worth mentioning is the installation of CSIU’s school administrative computerized record keeping system, which will be operational during the 2007-2008 school year. The system will provide state-of-the-art, efficient, electronic processing of student records, accounting transactions, payroll and benefit applications, and will interface with our recently implemented E-school Mall purchasing system. The major developmental challenge that lies ahead will be the incorporation of PDE’s academic and career and work standards into our current technical education curriculum. Team Performance Our 10 action teams met a total of 19 times during the 2006-2007 School Year. The teams are: Steering Team, ISO 9001:2000 Quality Team, Safe School Team, Student Activities Team, Beautification Team, P.R./Image Team, Post-Secondary Team, Curriculum Team, Induction Team, Technology Team. Successful projects completed by the teams included continued ISO 9001:2000 registration, Act 339 curriculum updating, post-secondary collaborative efforts, Student Activity Day, the implementation of a computerized comprehensive school record keeping system and other technological upgrades, the completion of various beautification jobs Text Box: 2006-2007 Venango Technology Center Annual Report September 4, 2007
